What rotten acting which is the only thing scary about Hammer films.

Generally most (not saying all) start off with good intentions - even some good ideas, but the acting and budget always let it down - still they're entertaining!

what i like best about these old mysteries is how fantastic the old buildings and furniture etc. in them are.

@flanneryged …and his hair was styled by Nicky Clarke! The story does not explain how and why the village people stayed put and did not escape from there and how Bob kept them in check, maybe he was coming up with some charity gig or something.

A good job was done in building suspense, and I admire the effort put into the direction, cinematography, and editing ... but the ending was hilarious! No scenery left unchewed, and it required more suspension of disbelief than "Mr. Popper's Penguins."
