Well, how hard you try or your amount of hustle doesn't mean anything when you are as bad as Theriot.

It's literally the only thing Theriot supporters can say about him, and it's a bullshit point. He has no skill, he is awful offensively and defensively. He's useless.

-.346 Slugging percentage(Making him the 3rd least powerful hitter in ALL of baseball)

-Hits very very badly with runners on base, or late in the game.

-Plays well below average defense

-Is already 28 years old, and has been an average minor leaguer, at best.(Every single decent pro has been either a good or great minor leaguer)

-Stop being ignorant, There are 25 better shortstops than Theriot.He's awful.

You see, this is why sometimes I'm embarrassed to be a Cub fan. Because you know so, so little. Ryan Theriot had an On Base Percentage of .326. That is VERY BAD.

That is why you should go by stats, not by what you see in the very few games you watch. You said "every time he's up he gets on base". While in the real world, he gets on base the least of the entire team.

The starters we're second best in the NL last year, and thats their problem?? Seriously, learn some shit about baseball.

ryan theriot is not that bad i mean there's a reason why they call him "the riot".the only other shortstop they got is ronny cedano and he sucks.theriot is not below average, he doesn't hit home runs but he can hit and every time he's up he gets on base.i don't think the cubs biggest problem is their shortstop i think it's their pitching and their big hitters like soriano and lee.they couldn't hit a homerun in the playoffs to save their lives.the pitchers need to pitch until the 6 or 7th inning.

I'm a Cubs fan, and I'm embarrassed that other Cubs fans think Theriot's good. IF they LIKE him, that's one thing, but to say he is a good player is a joke. And I'm really disappointed that Theriot is batting second, when he rarely walks and gets on base at a very low percentage. Fukudome is the perfect #2 hitter, because he walks a lot and hits for a high AVG. Fukudome is good for about 10-15 HR with 10-15 SB.

Lou needs to realize he needs a shortstop with SKILL, which is better than HUSTLE.
