  • Imagine if this song and Paperback Writer had been included in Revolver

Like Strawberry Fields and Penny Lane in Sgt.Pepper.

Sometimes people forget about the Beatles' singles...

  • derek smalls played bass on this - little known fact.

  • Paperback Writer/Rain was a single recorded during the Revolver album sessions--even though the 2 songs weren't put on the album itself. (Double-A side single, if you ask me!) There's some interesting stuff on "Rain" on a video here on YouTube (assuming the Team YouTube/Gestapo hasn't removed it by the time u read this) that can be found by searching:

    The Beatles Inside Revolver Rain

  • this song is not on any revolver

  • You can hear the effects changing with the vocals...reverb...sound on sound, which at the time was looped tape like early tape echo only a very fast repeat picked up by another tape head on the same machine, which made it bigger, sort of made it ring. Fascinating to hear how the recordist worked the tracks. Cool stuff.

  • @Aldebaron9.sorry for my strange sense of humour....

  • @TheBeatleMirko .sorry to tell you this:rain is MILES away better than P.W.no comparison.and this is NOT a matter of taste.it's obvious.

  • @rvlethielleux no, we certainly do not think sff is a b-side, thank you.

  • outstanding!!!

  • best b-side ever (unless you think "sff" is a b-side).as so much better than paperback writer.....
