A world of contradiction, passion, faith and cruelty. "Taking The Face" follows the 'Touro Bravo' from birth to death while exploring the rising polemic that may signal the tradition's demise.

It's been a long struggle to get this documentary distributed, mainly on account of prejudice on both sides - animal rights defenders think it's aficionado propaganda while aficionados suspect it's a pro-animal right film. bullfights the portuguese killing of innocent animals disguised under the word tradition. This makes me ashame of being portuguese, but I know it will change and those who come defending this practice will have to resign to the fact that the majority does not find it funny, sportive or traditionally cool to kill a bull in the most coward way possible!

I wonder if they know that their lack of understanding of the pain/suffering, is due to fundamental feelings of deprevation and insecurity? Their apathy and bravado is actually to compensate for those feelings. Most of us eat meat, but are adult enough, not to want the animals to feel unnecessary pain. Pitiful, pathetic and so unnecessary. Thanks youtube
