yo,you look very strong bro!
what is your height?
-
@Michel0555 absolutely not.

The only thing I disagree with in this video is the 1 rep max training. Not that it wouldn't be beneficial, but it puts the athlete at risk of injury. Tremendous stress on joints n connective tissue.

I was the strength n conditioning coach for Kermit Cintron for his first 24 fights. At which point his record stood at 24-0 with 22 ko's. I used very similar training as described in this video, and achieved outstanding results. His bench went from 95lbs for 5 reps to 255 for 5 reps. Squat went from 135 for 5 to 335 for 5. Deadlift went from 185 for 5 to 405 for 5. Once strength was maxed out I moved to plyo drills. Worked like a charm, and Kermit stayed at 147 for his 1st 24 fights.

Dimas aint tiny... but i see the point your making.

So if I want muscle size I shouldn't do plyo and low reps training?
-
punching power comes naturally mostly, not that you can't improve it but a lot of it has to do with your inherent abilities

Thank you very much for this video, I am a Muay Thai fighter and this will help tremendously in my strength training routines. If I see good results, I will definitely share them.

Wow, thanks Coach Hulse, you answered years of questions I've had that I never connected the science together so perfectly. My rest periods have indeed kept me small as well though I've gained power. In my thirties I'm still fast but the power isn't manifesting correctly. You've solved a huge problem for me in one post. Thanks.
@strengthcamp hey elliot, how about a strength power workout for boxers/mma fighters who are not afraid to put on size and go up a weight class e.g heavyweight or whatever.
Also another important factor is that a boxer has to keep throwing explosive punches for 12 rounds (ideally), 12 x 3 min rounds, so explosive endurance is a factor. Your thoughts.
