~~[For Product Review Read Description]~~

Song (just released): Tiesto & Hardwell - Zero 76

In this video, real time making of smoothie. While making, had to get up and get the milk from the fridge.

Recently purchased this blender for the sole purpose of making protein shakes, smoothies and protein smoothies.

Bought this at my local Walmart for $15.88+tax

Made only two smoothies so far, same ingredients as this video.

I couldn't really find any videos of someone actually making a smoothie.

In making this video, the frozen fruit "is rock solid" which was just pulled out of the freezer before making.

The reviews I have read on amazon, walmart and other sites were mainly positive. There were a lot of negative reviews on how people were getting clumpy smoothies or it was not blending up frozen fruit all the way.

Clumpy = not enough liquid
Blending frozen fruit = pulse, don't hold it down

There is a reason why Hamilton Beach put "Pulse" under the button. Not "Blend". I pulse through out majority of making the smoothie and then hold it down to blend just for a couple seconds.

Some reviews I read that, the cup jammed and was not able to unscrew from the base. The only reason I can think of is that the cup was not "locked in" all the way.

Otherwise, all in all, I think the tiny blender is awesome. I was originally contemplating between a Magic Bullet and a Ninja Prep Pro (new version). This was definitely a good choice.

Enjoy

  • I was looking to buy a small blender to make sauces, smoothies and soups, why can't you make soup in this?

  • @kate082009 For sauces and Smoothies it'll be just fine. I guess you can do a soup in it, I just never tried before. I'm not sure how good the blade design is to do a decent puree. If you're going to do a soup with small ingrediants like lentils or pees, it should he okay. Also to blend the soup after its cooked, not putting raw vegetables in there will make things easier.

Just the overall design of the blender, the motor is isn't all that powerful. I'm sure soups are ok if done correctly.

  • Ran out of space on that last part.

I meant to say that, the motor isn't all that powerful; but more than enough power to do simple things like a smoothie. I only speculate that it can do a soup as long as you cook it before hand. But rough chops of raw vegetables like carrots, celery, kale etc, I think the blender will have some tough time to puree that; if not cooked through.

But mine is still going strong. Everyday usage with multiple uses per day. No problems or issues.

  • @GtsXracer Thanks for your reply, it sound like it could do everything i would want as long as i cook the vegetables before. Have you tried blending pine nuts in there for a pesto sauce? And can you remember where you got yours from and how much it was?

  • @kate082009

Haha yeah, doing everything to a sense - is agreeable if everything is done properly. Pine nuts, unfortunately I have not. When I think about it though, knowing the blender and its limitations, if grinding pine nuts raw - it'll turn out to be a pretty rough chop. If done when its cooked and the seeds are softened up, there shouldn't be any problem. the only problem is, the viscosity of a pesto sauce is usually pretty thick. Not sure if the motor will struggle or not to puree.

  • I got mine at walmart for $15 I believe. It was definitely under 20 for sure. Walmart.... Only thing useful here on campus at school :-D. Bed bath and beyond has something similar but it's more expensive. This blender platform-design is pretty common. So you should be able to find something Very similar anywhere, most likely not a Hamilton brand but, same design though. Heck, I bet even best buy would have the samething.... If your local best buy carriers home appliances in store.

  • Best smoothie making video I've seen on YouTube. No bullshit. No time wasting saying dumb instructions.

    Just awesome. Great music too.

  • @200alfred I thought about it, I actually never tried crushing ice in it. From other reviews though who have tried seems like it didn't turn out that great. So didn't every try it =\

  • does it make fraps?

  • @ZombiePwnrs4life hahaha :D
