When my then young son was learning to swim, he wouldn't let go of the side of the pool until his instructor wisely suggested that, we, his parents, disappear. Forced to rely only on his teacher he was soon swimming and enjoying himself even in the deep end of the pool! We were there in the background when he took his first leap off the diving board, such a small boy that most everyone in the pool stopped to watch. He remains a good swimmer today. To me this is a picture of how we trust Jesus with our lives and our very souls. Take a jump into the deep end with Jesus and your new life will begin. This song by Third Day can be found on their "Revelation" album. Mac Powell and Lacey Mosely are the vocalists.
The lyrics:
Verse 1
Today I found myself,
After searching all these years,
And the man that I saw,
He wasn't at all who I'd thought He'd be,
I was lost when You found me here,
And I was broken beyond repair,
Then You came along and sang Your song over me
Chorus 1
It feels like I'm born again
It feels like I'm living
For the very first time
For the very first time,
In my life
Verse 2
Make a promise to me now,
Reassure my heart somehow,
That the love that I feel,
is so much more real than anything
[Born Again Lyrics On http://www.elyricsworld.com/ ]
I've a feeling in my soul,
And I pray that I'm not wrong,
That the life I have now,
It is only the beginning
Chorus 2
It feels like I'm born again
It feels like I'm living
For the very first time
For the very first time
It feels like I'm breathing
It feels like I'm moving
For the very first time
For the very first time
Bridge
I wasn't looking for something that was more,
Than what I had yesterday,
Then You came to me,
Then You gave to me,
Life and a love that I've never known,
That I've never felt before
Final Chorus
It feels like I'm born again
It feels like I'm living
For the very first time
I'm living for the first time
It feels like I'm breathing
It feels like I'm moving
For the very first time
I'm living for the first time,
In my life
This song is such an awesome reminder of how broken I was when Christ saved me. Funny thing is, I didn't even realize how broken I truly was. Unfortunately, I see many people in this world that don't realize they are broken.
