Here's some photos and a few videos that my wife and I took while on a trip to Japan earlier this year.
It starts with various shots around Tokyo such as the Imperial Palace, a traditional Japanese wedding, a buddhist temple, statues, sakura buds/cherry blossoms, students, a disgusting pizza, a disgusting billboard of Cameron Diaz, women playing pachinko, a boy playing an arcade game, some wacky fashions in the harajuku district and the awesome humping dog usb drive.
Then we hopped on the shinkansen/bullet train to Kyoto for a few days and saw a geisha dance performance at a theater in the Gion district, hiked thru the hundreds (or thousands) of torii gates of the Fushimi Inari shinto shrine, and visited the Golden Palace. Oh, and on the way over we saw Mt.Fuji, which apparently is a somewhat rare sight. It's big.
From there it was on to Hiroshima to see the ruined remains from the WWII abomb explosion and the museum dedicated to it. While there we stayed at a "love hotel", a hotel with themed rooms generally frequented by married men and women. We took a ferry boat to Miyajima, where a magnificent temple sits on an island just off the mainland. Tame deer (sika) infest the place.
While in the area visiting friends, we made a daytrip to Nagoya and caught a music/dance performance by some random girl group we didn't know in an outdoor mall and then visited a flower garden.
The music is "Tokyo A-Go-Go" by The Magnetic Fields and "Oahu" by the 6ths.
