A test shoot of the NEX VG-10 at The Singapore Zoo's Fragile Forest exhibit.

A pair of curious ring-tailed lemurs becomes intrigued with my Manfrotto tripod. I dismounted my camera and kept it rolling. Hilarity ensues.

The ring-tailed lemurs were made famous through the animated feature 'Madagascar'. Like all other species of lemurs, they are found exclusively on the island of Madagascar and is listed as a IUCN endangered species.

  • Thanks!

This was actually shot with gain at 0. Sony DSLRS/NEX in general tends to blow the highlights. I personally had to do slight colour correction (brightness and contrast) before I got a 'natural' combination.

Normally when I shoot on program-mode, I set it at -ve 0.3-0.7 AV. With that, only a little touching up is needed.

Overall, I would say that the VG10 is an excellent camcorder but not the best industrial camera due to certain flaws. It really depends what are u looking for?

  • Lol, great video.

I've been thinking of getting a VG10 but I'm a bit concerned as many vids I've seen show that it tends to blow the highlights.

Was this shot with auto gain? I suppose using a bit of -ve exposure compensation would help.
