  • In a word, Yes. This is the basic pure form of the dance not the standarized competitive version which is, as you suggest, quite modern. While I like to watch competitive dancing I prefer the more traditional as seen here.

  • Can someone explain this to me, and I don't mean this in a condescending way:

    Are they meant to be dancing like they did in the 18th century, or are they trying to do modern highland dancing? It's hard to tell.

  • Judging from the bleachers and the mountains in the background, I am guessing this was filmed in Estes Park rather than anywhere near Buckingham Palace, as your info implies. Great filming, in any event. Thank you for posting this. LUV them pipes.....must be something genetic.
