Tutorial: Victor Wooten - U Can't Hold No Groove

Hey everyone. In this video I will try to show you a way to play 'U Can't Hold No Groove' by Victor Wooten. I would like to emphasize that this is how I play the song, and not necessarily how it is played by Victor Wooten himself. Still, I hope it will help you learn the basics of this song.

I broke the song down into several patterns, following a more or less chronological order (but keep in mind that certain patterns keep recurring in the song.)

Godly right hand. I've been playing for 19 years, and I've tried the double-thumbing several times, and it still sounds like shit. I can't seem to grasp that. // But, your left hand here looks horrible, man. LOL! Luckily, it seems that in your other videos you're playing with proper technique. This tune here is definitely a right hand thing. The fretting stuff aint' too hard - it's the plucking.

@hecbiz75 Haha yes, I agree, my left hand looks weird in the video. It's something I've been working on since. After all, I don't wanna end up with all sorts of injuries :)
