  • Can you tell me how Stella is doing today? My beagle just had an episode almost identical to this just two days ago. She is about 9 years old and it was the first one to my knowledge. From my description of events, the vet thinks it may be seizure - but all her tests came back perfect. Thanks for posting the video - you can help many dog owners who have pets suffering the same symptoms.

  • Hi mummy3too, Stella is doing well. She is almost 3 years old now and has had these seizures since she was about 4 months old. She had a seizure a couple of weeks ago but it had been quite a while since her last one--probably 8 or 10 months. They seem to be getting more infrequent as she ages, which is good. I hope your baby is okay and will do fine even if she has seizures every now and then.

  • This looks like a vestibular or cerebellar problem. You need to get her to a neuro vet/vet school NOW.

  • She's been to several vets and had test upon test upon test for the last year. No vet can seem to pinpoint what is wrong with her. Luckily this doesn't happen very often and doesn't last very long.

  • That is a paroxysmal dyskinesia, also known as a movement disorder. I think they are MUCH more common than you'd expect, and they are often misdiagnosed.

  • My husband is a vet, and we fostered an epileptic border collie several years ago. The fact that the tests have not revealed anything leads me to believe that it's what they call "idiopathic" epilepsy. Our foster, Sara had many tests, including a spinal tap, and they couldn't pinpoint her problem either. She ended up seizing and not coming out of it and we had to put her down. Border collies are especially prone to seizures - if you haven't already taken her to a neurologist, better do so ASAP.

  • same thing happened 2 my dog i hope he alright the doctor said it was a partial seizure witch is when the legs go through a seizure but the rest of the body doesn't

  • She needs to be seen by an animal neurologist, not a vet. A good vet would recommend a neurologist. This is definitely a brain or central nervous system disorder. My dog died three months ago after about 2 years of these episodes that grew progressively worse into grand mal seizures with behavior like this after the seizures and sometimes before the seizures. They believe he had a slow growing tumor.

  • Awwe I am so sorry about that, she's a lovely Border Collie, hope they don't get worse.

    Much Love- Justyne&Askum♥

  • WOW... poor girl. Are you sure these aren't seizures? I used to have seizures and afterwords my legs would go weak, vision would be impaired, etc., etc.... and I would get sick from any kind of motion. Poor girl, glad she's with a kind mom like you!
