finally the last time we have to hear about what brock lesnar would do to someone. we all seen now how anyone who is a well trained fighter not just some massive beast can kick the shit out of him
for what it's worth my undefeated record is at the amateur level but it is based on open martial arts tourneys, It's just hard to hear TKD trashed when I have used it to win against kung fu, bushido karate, shotokan, capoiera etc.; I train w/ marine MICMP black belts + police behavior submission trainers as well and my TKD has helped me to dictate where the fight goes, potency belongs to the practicioner more than the art, in my opinion, but i don't know anything yet, just learning
at least we are discussing reasonably now, krav magna yes, bjj, especially hapkido and joint manipulation etc. it is all relevant, I think the key philosophy is jeet kune do-take and use what you need, I teach TKD in a non profit school that trains inner city underpriveleged kids self defense, the stats on abuse and neglect are staggering, anything they can learn to give them a fighting chance is vital and potentially life saving, we include techniques from other such arts in our instruction..
@TheOneAndOnlyOldB1 you're welcome for whatever service I've done for our country. and I'm trying to do another service here, the time you're spending learning TKD,could be spent learning something that will actually protect you,Krav, perhaps one of the various kickboxing arts, maybe BJJ....TKD isn't useless,it's good for cardio, and getting in shape,it's just not good for fighting, thats all
@ViralMessiah I am in fact working my way towards black belt in TKD and remain undefeated in tournaments, the difference is that I wouldn't take away value from anything you could teach me, much less call it useless, perhaps it's a lack of humility that keeps you from seeing the value of TKD, either way thank you for your service to our country, personally, I am just trying to absorb knowledge from everywhere, your posts don't seem to encourage the same attitude, that to me is a shame...
@theoneandonlyoldb the last resort of the ignorant is a personal insult. I took third in the state (oklahoma),during my TKD years, spent 12 years in the army as an 11b1v,with a total of 5 combat deployments. that said,I'm guessing you never took third in your class, let alone in a state,or have seen any real fighting anywhere outside of your older brother working you over. TKD is not a fighting art,any more than Tai Chi is,it's a dance, and it's pretty, but not effective
@ViralMessiah Any child who takes a month of TKD can utilize what they learned to defend themselves for the rest of their life, perhaps you are useless as a student, you certainly are uselss as a commentor, get your facts straight and stop waisting everyone's time, the only joke here is your handle (viralmessiah) the only virus you got is hppv-that's genital warts to save you the research time, best of luck, get your heart right and maybe your filthy mind and mouth will follow.
@tkotomy Cro Cop, Dennis Siver, Jurkowski, Cung Le, Anderson Silva, Ben Henderson Stephan Bonnar all have black belts in TKD-how does that not qualify as a 'background'? I realize the internet allows anyone to spout off, but really you should do your research, you are simply uninformed, I am not saying TKD is the whole mma game, just a great foundation for a striking base, it's as simple as that

@theoneandonlyoldb No they don't. Anderson and Mirko do NOT have BB's in Taekwondo. Stop spamming the front page you know nothing.
