I see that 2 many people here are very ignorant

~about 2,000 late term abortions occur each year and in majority of the cases it is sad because it had to be done in order to save the woman's life or other health related complications.

~many women have to get it done, I don't think anyone really wants to have a late term abortion unless they have to

In the case of ectopic pregnancy, obviously the health of the mother and child are in question, but in other cases it can't be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that the child would endanger the mother's life. Besides, you say we are ignorant, over 1 million babies are killed in the womb every year. Why? To protect the rights of those "2,000" who might have their health affected?

ben- Congress, in crafting the Partial Birth Abortion Ban, Interviewed (in open session) abortion practitioners. Over and over again, they said, under oath, that D & X (Partial Birth Abortions) were NEVER neccesary to save the mothers life. Did you get that- NEVER.

I used "ignorant" for those who say that it is never necessary because it is. If you do some extended research you will find some difficult cases where mom had to choose it such as finding that the child has some serious defects and most likely would not be able to survive. The families need to make the choice whether they want the child born and than die or to do this procedure

either choice is hard for those who are faced w/ this decision
