Hey. I've been wanting to record this for a while but my sound card was broke. I didn't mess about with the tone too much, so any advice on what I can do to make it sound more like Satch's would be appreciated, as would any advice on my playing in general.

the intro is played clean and fingerpicked because he plays the harmony at the same time. The main solo is all picked, there is no legato.

where is your delay? where is your clean sound?

I think you would sound a lot better with better amp settings

@mezlek2 Thanks man yeah I know what you mean the tone is nothing like Satriani's and the recording quality is pretty poor. Hopefully redo it eventually!

satch has wah, chorus, slight reverb and harmonizer + delay for some parts, all in all a basic effects board or a good multi effects pedal will get you there.
