I don't know if you'll die. Probably not. Some people can stop cold turkey and not be affected at all. I did. But most have to taper slowly.

I am off of SSRIs for almost four months and still suffer withdrawals. I can speak for long periods of time about what I have been through. Some of the things I have been through no professional believed when I mentioned them. I suffered alone, and things happened that scared me on levels that go beyond the physical. I wouldn't even try to explain. Just believe me. All of the comments here are completely true about withdrawal.

All I can say is that Cymbalta withdrawals are the worst of any of these drugs...it doesn't matter how far you ween yourself off, when your brain realizes its gone it tweeks...its been 2 months for me and I was on the max dose of 120mg...I am still having the brain zaps trembles etc... TELL YOUR DOCTORS THEY ARE FULL OF IT IF THEY SAY IT IS NOT WITHDRAWALS...and I wouldn't have made it without the support blogs out there...so use them and be careful out there!!!

Cymbalta TV commercial starts with demon siren music played by The Clinically Normative Ones. I think of the Unitarian Mental Health Lady, the Champion of the Clinical Fatherland, who I bumped into years ago. She RAVES about the "mentally ill" but she & all her Clinically Normative associates are immunized from "disorders" because you can only have one by being ACCUSED of having one, and She & her pals are the Clinically Normative Ones "qualified" to ACCUSE. I was put in a mental hospital because I had extreme restlessness for a whole year from an anti-psychotic medication which my psychiatrist didn't take me off. It was TORTURE. Anyway I ended up in a mental hospital over it and came off Olanzapine which was causing the extreme restlessness that almost drove me nuts, well it actually did drive me nuts to be honest and they put me on another medication in there that made me throw up for 3 months.
