how to start a clothing company

Thank You for your tips ! you are awesome (= I m from South America . My dream is to own and create a clothing line . I have amazing ideas...right now Im in the dilema between going to a fashion Design school or just going for my dream, or should I just go for it and do it without knowing how to pattern or sew... I welcome any tips or recommendations that you think might help me.

Hmmm this is a hard one. I mean, it it totally possible to succeed without going to school and having a great clothing line, but then again schooling is always a good thing to have. Another thing you could consider would be to get a partner with your business who might know how to graphic design and such things like that. That is what I did and things worked out great. We ended up saving a lot of money doing it that way : )

I would probably just go for it without the schooling unless a TON of money is invested ect!

Hey! Sorry for the late reply. Well, to be honest. We started it really quickly with literally no planning lol. We were young and had no clue that there was something called "business strategy". We kind of though you just got a product and sold it without any thinking involved. We had a brand name, and some designs.. so we picked on design and surveyed our friends on facebook and picked the design with the best feedback. We sold out of that design then kept reinvesting !

when you research your trademark do you only research clothing brands and clothing lines or any type of trademark like kitchen appliances and stuff?

Hey Vkev21 , To be honest, I'm not really too sure on that one. I think It would be on everything . I never looked into it as much as I should have just because I never did it. But I am for sure interested in that as well! Sorry I couldn't help you out there
