Dr Lonnie Smith and Corinne Bailey Rae

Well, well, well... the incredible, peerless Dr Lonnie Smith returned to the Sela Bar, Leeds, this weekend, and I was lucky enough to be in the audience last night and witness his incredible musical creations for the third time!

Unbelievably, his chosen musicians, Jonathan Kreisberg on guitar and Jamire Williams on drums were almost more mind-numbingly fantastic than his last companions, Eric Calb (drums) and Melvin Sparks (Guitar).

Being a local lass, Corinne Bailey Rae was also present in the audience and was invited on stage to do a touch of crooning. What resulted was a spine tingling, joy-fest of musical magic. The chemistry was just beautiful... I managed to grab just a few minutes of the end of the song... perhaps the best few minutes :-) Enjoy!

Great music. Six hours ago I had never heard of Corinne let alone Dr. Lonnie Smith and then a Dutch station plays "Put Your Records On" at 0430 and one hour later I find this on YouTube. Hallelujah :-)
