This is the official Contra game for iOS, renamed as 'Contra evolution revolution,' developed by KONAMI China, the game will be released to Chinese App Store tomorrow. God. Touch gaming should just die already. Gimmicky nonsense

Wrong. When done properly, touch controls work extremely well when combined with gestures and tilt controls. Just because YOU don't like it doesn't mean it's "gimmicky nonsense". iOS and mobile gaming in general has come on a frightening amount in the past four years. Look at NFS Undercover from 2008 compared to Real Racing 3 or even NFS Most Wanted today, especially on iPad. And it's only going to get more advanced.

Mobile and tablet gaming is here to stay. Deal with it.

I don't actually think it should die. At least it tries to evolve into many genres... but I do would like games like this to stick into consoles that actually have a CONTROLLER.

Fast games like this NEVER translate well to an already clunky touch-interface (despise of how well done they could be).
