Keep up to date with Shedd's Oceanarium animals and trainers with this Web diary series about all their doings off site during the renovation. In this entry, marine mammal trainer Indya Watts talks about preparing the sea otters for the animal transport.

  • Well besides being a strong swimmer (depending on what you work with and where you wotrk) it's a good idea to get a degree in something like physcology, biology, or zoology. To get a job most places want you to have experience so that means volunteering and doing internships. I'm not a trainer, but i myself hope to one day train marine mammals so i have done a bunch of reaserch on that.

  • hopefully someone with useful information will see this and help. Ive loved marine life since i was a little girl and recently grown a great interest for becoming a marine mammel trainer. i live in chicago, how would i go about making my dream come true? would i HAVE to move? if so i wouldnt mind,,, these are just some questions... someone please assist me! thank you! :)
