  • Bobby Hull was pretty good . . . but he was no Messier !

    Rangers in 2011.

  • USA USA!!

  • I hosted and produced a Weekly Sports talk show on WTAQ Radio in suburban LaGrange from 1982-1985, and used to broadcast it live -remote from the Chicago Stadium prior to the Sunday Night Blackhawks games. I was hosting the show this particular night and featured an Interview I had taped the day before with Bobby. What a tremendous experience.

  • It's so weird seeing the fans at games back in the 80's. So many differant colored (normal) shirts. Now days you see the home teams colors and/or team Jerseys all over the stadium no matter what sport it is.

  • @Thedoctorsbiggestfan When a players number gets retired, that means no player from that team can wear that number on their jersey. I believe Bobby Hull's number was 9. So now no chicago Black Hawks player can wear the number 9 jersey. Wayne Gretzky is the only player (that I know of) who's number has been retired throughout the league. No NHL player can wear number 99 on their jersey out of respect for Gretzky.

  • what does it mean Bobby Hulls number was retired

  • I was 18 then. Notice there was cheering only at the very end. We started cheering when he sang, "the flag was still there". sometime shortly after 84-85. Then it kept creeping in earlier, on almost every verse, until it morphed to what it is now.

    And I still dig it!

    Let's go Hawks !!!

  • wayne messmer was and will always have the best rendition of the national anthem...I loved watching games from the stadium...and i'm from philadelphia!...Bring Back the Voice!

  • god bless usa
