  • What software / operating system does it run?

  • @librano Hi it runs on Linux

    Kind Regards

    Victor Christiansenn

  • @secpoint I thought so. I just find it ironic that on your website you say Linux is "one of the most vulnerable commercial operating systems of all time" and yet you use it in your security appliances to protect 'more secure OSs' like Windows XP from viruses.

I think you should give proper credit to projects that you freely use at the core of your business. Please don't spread fear, uncertainty and doubt.

    Best Regards.

  • @librano Dear Librano,

That is out of the box default linux installations.

You can customize and secure linux as any other distro.

If you see Openbsd is in the top.

  • @secpoint Yes, I can understand OpenBSD being at the top... but then followed by every Windows release after Windows ME? I don't think any out of the box Windows installation is as secure as an out of the box Linux installation. Even though MS has made big improvements over the years, UAC is more or less their implementation of user permissions and sudo which Linux has had for much longer. Add to that the risk of Windows specific viruses and malware and I don't see how they are all above Linux.

  • @librano It is true, We updated the list to make it more fair.

  • @secpoint At Pwn2Own 2009 only Ubuntu was left standing. Mac OS X fell first, then Vista.

For the 2010 challenge there was no Ubuntu but there was the Nexus One running Android. I haven't found a report of it having been hacked. The iPhone fell first :)
