ah ha, its rigged ^^ it is blantently obvious that the first cable had been purposely chosen for this exact reason. it was probably an incredibly poorly made HDMI cable and no real person would have bought it anyway. an HDMI cable is an HDMI cable, the only difference is the shielding, length, and amount of gold put into it. every "good" HDMIT cable performs exactly the same, and you can get a perfect cable for under 10 bucks. . . if you paid over 50, you were scammed by "the man" lmfao!

What's the point in showing waveforms? The argument against these ridiculous cables isn't that they're precisely the same as any other cable. The argument is that the difference isn't reflected in the image quality.

Of course Monster cables can carry a cleaner wave than the cheap crap you can get out of China, but cables a tenth of the price of these Monster cables can carry waves clean enough for it to NOT MATTER to your HDMI transceiver.

Show an image on a TV, and let people judge.

If people want to waste their money on these cable let them!.. It's their money as long as their happy with it!.. I have one of these $100 4ft cable and a cheap $5 cable from ebay.. I can't tell the difference and I am using a 46in 1080p TV.. I don't think our eyes are good enough to tell the difference.. unless you use a computer!.. here is something to think about, monster cables are made in china!..

The cable probably wasnt HDMI certified e.g 1.3 cat 2 tested. hope HDbaseT comes in soon to get rid of all the pricing issues of HDMI. monoprice sell life time warranty good gauge HDMI for $4 so why the big difference in cost?

@MonsterCableProducts i know as of 2009 the standard was 1.3, had to be 1080 certified, and there was something else. idk about the current standards. but i know that all cables produced during this time HAD to meet that standard. and if you bought a 'new' one, then it was not produced by a company that followed proper protocol and regulations, and could suffer severe penalties.

So if $30.00 is too much for a cable you must not care about your A/V system

its about build quality, most of those cheapo $5.00 cables are built poorly and will soon fall apart inside and that would be a waste of money... pony up and buy the good cable

i just bought a monstercable and it was great but the cable has a problem it makes a little sound on the tv of 1080 and if i connect another cable it doesn´t sound that sound

I think I'll buy Monster...the best....that way...I will not have to change my cable on the future if I change my Tv for another with higher performance...
