Yes! This is how Mafia II looks and runs on a:
Intel Core i5-661 3.33 GHz
4GB DDR3 RAM
9400GT 1GB (overheating)
Looks and runs... pretty damn well actually! For a second there I wouldn't even believe those were the lowest graphics. Much better than GTA IV at this point.
They aren't flawless though. Just like GTA IV, it has bloom enabled by default, and you can't turn it off. Same for anti-aliasing.
And just like Mafia I, it's very, very hard.
AND YES I know I got owned at the end.

@RadioactiveFilms1337 It's weak. The 9400GT is equivalent to the 6600 in terms of performance. If I had a... 9800GT for example there would be a 90% chance that I could run both Mafia 2 and GTA IV at 60FPS with the graphics to the max.

@AwesomeASK Perfectly. Just minimize the graphics, resolution should be fine 1024 x 768 but if you're experiencing poor frame rate you might have to set that to 800 x 600 as well.

@supermortalhuman It's clearly not better than GTA but it's the only GTA rip-off that's any good.
And Saint's Row 2 is at the opposite end. I honestly don't know what people see in that game. But hey, can't shit on a man's taste...

@tudythegangster I can agree with that wholly. I wouldn't even consider it an open world game, considering 90% of everything you can see isn't accessibly, including water and air - it's not an open world game at all, it just pretends to be one. I wouldn't even consider it anything like gta at all except for the fact that you drive cars and walk in it, in a "realistic" environment - that is like, the only thing mostly what it has in common. But I agree that in truth it didn't suck, was a goodgame
