Quelle grâce et quelle force d'évocation dans la voix d'Alfred Deller, qui se préoccupait peu de sa technique vocale et passait son temps à lire de la poésie car il souhaitait rendre avant tout le sens des paroles qu'il chantait.
Philippe Jaroussky fait très pâle figure à côté. Il a une technique vocale mais aucune âme ne transperce de son chant.
Même James Bowman, lorsqu'il interprète ce morceau de Purcell n'atteint pas, selon moi, à la même intensité que Deller.
