  • Very helpful, thank you.

  • @karenoconnell19 You are most welcome. A LCI bike class will piece togother other parts of the safe riding

  • The video is about thinking and driving a bicycle like any other vehicle. The principles apply in city or rural traffic. Downtown "rush hour" can be misnomer, if everyone is going the same way, "traffic rush" is more like a slow parking lot.

  • @carrigan88 Seems simple but try riding your bike in rush hour in Manhattan and you will have drivers CUTTING you off and saying things like get the F.CK of the road.

I ride my bike 5 feet from a parked car because too many cyclist are getting killed by people who don't look first before opening their door. It takes 3 seconds to turn your head and look to see if any cyclist are coming!!! I wish every car had an auto voice that comes on and says LOOK FIRST BEFORE YOU OPEN YOUR DOOR.

  • @jhn170: This summer I send an afternoon riding from Central Park south, over the Williamsburg Bridge, around the Navy Yard, over the Brooklyn Bridge, then up Lafayette, Park Ave, almost 19 miles over 4 fours.

It was fun, Really! NYC has something you don’t find elsewhere: tons of taxis, delivery vehicles who cut across the one-way avenues. Accept the honking, if wasn’t personal just impatience. Taxi’s and trucks will move around you if you visible, keep tuned to the road.

  • Great video!!! Thanks!!! When i signal to make a R or L turn i use my finger - pointing in motion. I ride my bike to work from the Bronx to Manhattan and i take the whole right lane!! I don't go near parked cars and if i do I'm 5 foot from a parked car!! Too many cyclist getting kill by people who don't look first before opening their door!!!

  • I notice you were not driving your bike through downtown in rush hour.
