This is a tribute to the great season the Sabres had back in 1992-93. They enjoyed a high scoring offensive show put on by the legendary duo of Pat Lafontaine and Alexander Mogilny.

Song Title - Where The Streets Have No Name
Artist - U2

  • this was the first season that i was old enough to remember i was 6yrs old at the start of the season. thanks for putting this up and sparking memories of going to games with my dad

  • I get very nostalgic watching this. My parents were at the "May Day" game, I was at Ottawa game 7 with Plante's OT goal, I was at the "No Goal" game. Good and bad Sabres memories live on in my memory and now here; thank you!

  • That team was awesome. LaFontaine, Mogilny and Hawerchuck ... really fun watching those guys.

  • Mogilny in a sombrero? I like it!

  • @journeythruthepast still if buffalo was healthy they would of probably won the cup

  • @PJBATTS They didn't break anyone's legs. Watch the games. Mogilny's was a fluke accident actually caused when a Buffalo defender (Bodger I think) knocked a Hab over Mogilny in a prone position. And Lafontaine had suffered his injury in the previous round but aggravated it in game 3. Habs were up 2-0 in the series before anyone got hurt. When they lost Lafontaine for game 4, it's not like they were coming back from 0-3 down. Fuhr was playing with a groin pull I think. Them's the breaks though.

  • Just before goalie equipment got ginormous and defensive systems were rare. This was a time when teams could average well over 4 goals a game. 92-93 Sabres were a talented team but not well rounded enough. They lacked defensive d-men, Fuhr was heading into the worst part of his career (1993-95) and their 3rd and 4th lines didn't score much. When they lost Amog and Patty in games 2 and 3 with the Habs, that was too much to handle. Future Sabre teams won more but were less entertaining to watch.

  • 4:37, Ray power play goal. LOL!

  • That team should have done so much more, Alex ans Patty both going down sucked

  • Sabres def should of won in 93 the cup. Sabres beat the beat team out of the conference the bruins.

Fuhr play awesome against the bruins but crappy against the canadiens. I guess thats what happens when u play with a seperated shoulder.

Mogilny lafontaine banged up as well. Sabres healthy they beat the habs and absolutely kill the islanders and kings! Should of been the cup of the sabres in 93!
