To effectively implement a system of any kind, the changes need to be defined and documented in order to be communicated and understood by the people affected. An ISO system is no different. When deciding on a ISO document approach the organization must decide who will be responsible for documenting activities and changes, initially and long-term, to create:
1) ISO/process buy-in
2) process ownership
3) effectively shoulder the burden of ISO/process maintenance
4) protect the integrity of ISO registration/conformance
