Standing on the first bridge on the Highway of Heroes. It was covered with Canadian flags, two local fire trucks, and many people.
Corporal Martin Dubé repatriation. 5 year old Cpl Martin Dube was killed Sunday afternoon in southern Afghanistan, when the roadside bomb he was trying to defuse exploded 20 kilometres southwest of Kandahar City. Cpl Dube served with the 5e Regiment du Genie de Combat, the combat engineer regiment based in Valcartier, near Quebec City. Corporal Dubé was responding to a call to neutralize two IEDs when one of them exploded.
This was a great honor for me to be able to participate in this. All Canadian citizen should do this at least once in your life.
We arrived an 40 minutes before the procession arrived. The car beeping is what many vehicles did as they passed underneath the bridge from the moment we got there.
Nice! Love it.
