New Wave is a genre of music which originated in the late 1970s. Many of today's popular artists were heavily influenced by New Wave. While Punk Rock and Disco flourished New Wave to me was dead center in between the two drawing from both as well as other popular music forms.. This slide show shows some of the many groups and artists that came under the umbrella of New Wave.
