CAFR School: What Is A Commingled Fund ???

A CAFR rant for the Occupy Wall Street crowd!

I'd like to introduce you to the $64 billion and $23 billion dollar "mutual funds" in California, called Commingled funds. These funds are in all states, with federal U.S. CODE creating them through the state treasurer, and are usually called the Public or State Treasurer's Investment Fund.

Even as California claims to be broke, these funds are growing strong... making hundreds of millions or billions of dollars in investment returns.

@TheCorporationNation ~ Great stuff and needs to be said, especially now that the governments are crying poor-mouth. You've got people ready to talk to other people on this, so forgive me, but 2 corrections are necessary on the audio, if anyone is going to effectively verbalize this at the OWS protests. Commingled is pronounced Co-(with a long 'o') followed by (pronounced) 'mingled'--as in mixing together. UCC is Uniform (Not Universal) Commercial Code.

Most of the people protesting on Wall Street aren't smart enough to understand any of this because they were educated in public schools. With the Internet there is no excuse for not being informed.
