Had it been restored at that time? I had seen earlier pictures of the model and sections of it were in bad shape.

I believe it did have some restoration by HMS studios. They have created original props for many films and television shows.

There were a few of us on the restoration team, it was restored back to the way it looked in 1955 for the exhibit at Disneyland. HMS never had the boat, though one of it's employees made a few trips down and helped out on certain things
