This place is the best way to stereotype alaska for being cold..... This is not the everyday alaska! this is the farthest north you can go! I live in a dak, rains alot not too cold... Heck in fairbanks a few years ago it was up to around 90 F!!

The high for that day was 35 F. The rest of that week was similar.

Thanks for posting ... it was a trip down memory lane ... even saw our house!! Lived there in 1985-89. It was a wonderful experience.

Alaska in very easy to navagate from city to city. It does have a very large amount of back country that requires alternative methods of navigation. As for the temp., I was there in June and the temps. were in the 80s and 90s. When I traveled above Coldfoot the temp. did start to drop and was in the low 20s when I arrived in Barrow.

It is a very interesting place. I am sure the people living there like it but the cold, wind and no green anywhere did not appeal to me. I am very glad to have visited for a short period.
