The dance is called "Die Hammerschmiedsgselln" or Alt-Ausseer, to a 17th century dance tune from Upper Styria / Austria. In 1893 a Saxon wrote a new text to this tune, and as "Der Vogelbeerbaum" this song became known all over Germany.
