In the last two election cycles, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has spent millions of dollars on TV ads to portray U.S. Rep. Mark Kirk of Highland Park as a far right Republican. Now that Kirk is running for U.S. Senate in a GOP primary, the congressman has strived to shed the label of "moderate" he crafted over five terms in Congress. DCCC Chairman Chris Van Hollen reversed years of campaign ads from his organization and called the Illinois 10th District Republican a "moderate" member of the GOP on C-SPAN, 11-8-09.

One minute they call my congressman a moderate, next minute he is a "republibot" and/or right wing crazy. I don't consider him a moderate. He is pretty far to the right on fiscal issues, but he is more moderate socially, but he just lost his Planned Parenthood endorsement and he has never been endorsed by the HRC.
