i bought one too

it needed a set up. i had to loosen the truss rod and set the bridge.

also bought 105 strings, because it sounded too spikey :)

your strings are set to low, it hits the fretboard..

also, I wouldn't blame the bass for the sound, as the stock pickups were actually nice, I'd blame your setup and eq :P
