3:33 he's using it in the water. Doesn't work so just throw it in the water. LOL. Redundant, but funny.

In all fairness, some of those movies had had reasonable reasons why the phones had no coverage. Like in Quarantine (not defending the movie cause it sucked) the CDC probably had a jammer or something. Just saying...
-
@DonalLynchyou Perhaps they should blow up the cellular mast, or set up a jammer. To be fair, if you wanted to kill a bunch of people by leading them to an isolated spot, it would be most effective to choose one with no coverage. I guess people concerned about elaborate psychopathic killers should get satellite phones.

22 people have the same service provider as these movies.

To be fair, if they had signal, the movie would end after 2 minutes... But it still bothers me no one has yet found a way around that cliché in horror movies.
-
Another way that they can elude cell phones is by always setting the movie pre 90's...I think this is the best option rather than some ridiculous writing to get by.
-
ALSO IN HORROR MOVIES, when people can communicate they just NEVER GET THE WORDS OUT...Somebody will think Jimmy is the killer, but they just sit there with a worried look on their face...Or, they notice a zombie bite mark on somebody but just can't get around to mentioning it to anybody else in the car...The list goes on and on.
Remember when murderers had to cut the phone lines.
