A nice, all original Kay archtop electric. These were sold under several different brand-names: Old Kraftsman, Truetone, Penncrest, and Airline.

As always, disregard the poor playing and sound quality, the guitar sounds excellent.

  • What year Kay is that?

  • I have one just like that! I love it. What amp are you playing through?

  • @KcinTlob Yes, especially the one on my old vanguard...

  • @menga111 The man who got me into Kays...

  • Which tuning are you using with the slide? it sounds ace. :-)

  • @terser the guitar sound very beautiful, especially from the 0:32, but there must had been an effect or at least good amp with overdrive channel. What did you use?

  • @firefoxmoz Just fyi-- I have an Airline archtop that I just repaired & I will be installing a neck-mount pickup. You can buy them on eBay for $20 (Artec). All the parts cost me $30 total, and I'm hoping it will sound good once it's done. The acoustic sound isn't great, since the top is just cheap plywood (not carved). The installation I'm planning is very simple: The pickup will be wired directly to an output jack installed in the lower bout, with no volume or tone controls.

  • Jack White

  • @westpsmity oh, ok. i think jack white uses a noise supressor though, and he puts paper over the front of the guitar.

  • @aabel4 Yes, like as in every time you let up on the strings, it would instantly start feeding back and screaming at you. Not always a bad thing, but you'd need to control it more than on a solid body electric guitar. But, it works for Jack White, so it can be done effectively. Cheers
