@youdontknowxpand you should try fsx texture conversion, It's a program that converts fsx's textures to dxt1 format instead of the default dxt3 (or is it 5 I forget) it improves your performance by 5-20 fps I use it myself and it works great, just search "fsx texture conversion" on google and click on the first link.

I got an i3, ATI Radeon 5145 and 2.26 Ghz and i play FSX on max settings with no lag. I get about up to 30 Fps.

@deliveryguy1970 Yep, I have Acceleration since it came out too... It's probably my CPU...

Did that eyons ago, still my performance hardly improves. I get 20 FPS average on medium scenery settings and ultra high plane settings... When I got to heavy scenery places (Seattle, NY, etc) i get an average of 5-10FPS!! I don't have a fancy computer, but I bought mine a few months after FSX came out. It was the best I could afford back then. Are there any other tricks?

@youdontknowxpand
Yes, install SP2 or buy Acceleration. This makes the game work fast. Most people forget that when a game is released, there is an update for mistakes and better performance. So all those people who say FSX needs a super computer are WRONG!!!
Hope this helps! DG

nice video! whats light bloom anyways? i never use it!

@levygonz
Bloom (sometimes referred to as light bloom) is a computer graphics
effect used in computer games, demos and high dynamic range rendering
(HDR) to reproduce an imaging artifact of real-world cameras. The
effect produces fringes (or feathers) of light around very bright
objects in an image.
The physical basis of bloom is that, in the real world, lenses can
never focus perfectly.
