you forgot lots of things go on my chanel and look at my video of see see my play mate.

British version is:
Ceecee my playmate
I cannot play today
Because I've got the flu
Chickenpox and measles too
Slide down my drainpipe
Into my cellar door
And we will be best friends
Forever more!
-
In Ontario, Canada, I learned it like this:
CiCi my playmate, come out and play with me, I cannot play with you, my dolly has the flu. Slide down the rainbow, into my apple tree, we'll be jolly old friends,
(then it switches to just clapping using each others hands)
No more shut the door you cant come back till 3004.

for us in new zealand it was "see see my playmate, i cannot play with you, because i've got the flu, chicken pox and measles too! climb down the drainpipe, into the sailors hole and then we'll be best friends forever more."
-
In Ireland we say! Sea sea my baby, come back and play with me, for I am lonesome, and need your company, slide down a rainbow and into paradise. and then we have an odd bit at the end to see who wins

@chickswithsticks001 There are regional variations to songs. This song probably came to Pohnpei decades ago and has undergone its own evolution in the L2 environment here. Many local children who sing the song have no idea what the words mean, they are not speakers of English.

Thanks, Coyote, I appreciate you dropping by and sharing. As noted above, we did make a trip to Wisconsin. While my kids did not get their American cousins into "See see my playmate," they did teach them a variation of jacks played with rocks and a ball. Cousins returned to Connecticut and Spain playing what the Kosraeans refer to as "kingking" and the sound of rocks hitting the floor resonated through the house this summer.

Kalahngan, I knew you were from Pohnpei, but I noted on your profile that you said you are in Hilo, hence my incorrect guess. The family and I are headed to Wisconsin this summer, maybe my kids can teach the kids there how to play "See see" Somehow, however, I doubt it - even I know that Nintendo rulz these days. Or Wii. Xbox 360....
