Chadwick lakes are actually a large stream of water which start from Northwest of Malta (Fiddien) and flows down to Mosta (central Malta) and further down to the East of Malta where it ends up in the sea at Salini. Looking at it from this video one can compare it to a small river, but such a view can be seen only for the 3 rainy months of Malta, as then it gradually dries out in Summer.

  • I remember visiting these in 1961 when my Father was stationed in malta with the British. I never swam in them though. We swan at Tigne beach. Lived on Msida Road. I went to verdala.

  • Well yes, in summer I swim sometimes in Tigne. But it happenes that you're doing a countrywalk in winter and you just take a dive...

  • I never saw them with water in. Chadwick Lakes were always dry when we went there about 6 or 7 times between 1961 and 1963. But I remember the smell of pine trees and the orange groves all around Verdala Palace. Tigne beach was reserved for the British Forces - you had to be a member then. It must be better now you are a Republic.
