I never saw them with water in. Chadwick Lakes were always dry when we went there about 6 or 7 times between 1961 and 1963. But I remember the smell of pine trees and the orange groves all around Verdala Palace. Tigne beach was reserved for the British Forces - you had to be a member then. It must be better now you are a Republic.

I remember visiting these in 1961 when my Father was stationed in malta with the British. I never swam in them though. We swan at Tigne beach. Lived on Msida Road. I went to verdala.
