Yes, the lip synching is sad, but the point is she was just rubbish. The presenters sound, rightfully embarrassed, for her. Her dancing was lumbering, her stage presence was nil, she was bloody, bloody awful. This was the first time I had ever seen her, and I never forgot it. Madonna, without her smoke and mirrors - not a good look and one I never forgot. After seeing this, I always found it hilarious that anybody found her sexually appealing or imagined for one second she was talented.

how is this infamous?? and EVERYONE lip syncs on top of the pops. i have never seen a TOTP performance where the artist wasn't lip syncing. i think they are forced to lip sync. And why do British people say it like "Madonner" instead of "Madonna"?

Well duh...these people didnt pay to see a live performance...they are on a musical variety show...of course lip syncing is standard in that area! Now if you PAY to go to a concert and there is lip syncing...you might have a vaild complaint! There are times and places where lip syncing is acceptable...this is one.
