It partially sounds like A Forest - the Cure, in fact it sounds quite similar to Cure in general. BUT it obviously is not. Their loss they didn't sign with Factory.

Martin (Billy Bugle) Hannett. Ohh he could make it talk. I saw him at work on numerous times at cargo Studios. Billy! I used to say, you would get a lot better ambionic sound if you were to go out of the studio and blow your bugle out on the fire escape. Get fucked! he used to joking reply
