Small precise stabs so as not to telegraph movement and difficult to disarm. Depending on the level of your partner, you can adjust degree of difficulty to help teach your partner.
I think if you're going to retreat you're better off running... The man is the weapon, not the knife. Respect it sure, but the goal should always be the man IMO.
nice flow. i noticed that the defender (guy without a knife) was constantly going in to the attacker. is that the correct way to deal with someone wielding a knife? i know you both were just practicing, but i'm just wondering if that is the right way to handle the situation.
I think they're drills so that the body can get used to moving that way and that's not what they're gonna do in a real life situation.

in my own point of view...the more you retreat the more you get hit. just like my grand-uncle and teacher said " retreat once, advance twice."
