  • Is there anything you can use in place of the almond oil? I'm allergic to almonds...so I assume I can't use that. xD

  • Way to go Jan. Another great show. I wish more people would make their own, so much better than commercial products. Best wishes, your Fairchild friend.

  • You want tot find an emulsifier that is made from natural sources. Cetearyl can be made synthetically or derived from natural sources. This makes the difference to whether it is "dangerous" or not to the skin.

  • You can add glycerin, but it attracts moisture, which is not good in Canada as the air is dry moisture will be absorbed from in the skin to the outer layer. In the Uk where ther is more misture in the air then the opposite happens where moisture is drawn from the air outside the skin at keep moisture in.

  • Hi, please could you answer my very important question.. I am going to make my own face moisturizer but I am worried about the emulsifier, is it safe to use on the skin? The one I am looking to buy has these ingredients "Ceteareth-20 and Cetearyl alcohol", are these ingredients safe to use on the skin? From what I looked up it said that ceteareth-20 is dangerous on the skin, is that true?

  • yo, she didn't add glycerin which locks in moisture

  • Jan says

You need to use an emulsifying wax as water and beeswax does not mix, it is very easy once you have the right ingredients.

  • No, did not work for me. I used beewax but eventually water and wax did not mix, not sure why, did exactly as instructed. These things always look easy in video but.......it ain't.
