Somebody should follow this up with a mockup of the Inglorious Basterds "nein, nein, nein" meme, but subtitled "Joseph Goebbels reacts to the original rick-roll"!

Mini - my uncle, who participated in one of these showings, nearly soiled himself, when he found out, that a group of German marine soldiers were in the cinema. However, his group leader firmly suggested to the Germans, that any donations to the freedom struggle would be much appreciated. They all parted with their sidearms without much ado and - my uncle said - he had the feeling that some of them were actually more than happy to help. In another geography they might have joined the partisans.

@StalkerPoul So true my friend. According to my wife's MA text book (A history of non-fiction film, pp148-151), the Danish Underground made commando raids on occupied cinemas to force it (amongst other things) to be shown, putting armed guards on the cinema doors. They also provided lots of footage for our (UK) newsreels too, via Sweden. They drove around in a van with their driver in Nazi uniform, filming Nazi activities and their own sabotage. RESPECT.
