That's my father in the video
We built this plane in Canberra Australia before selling it to a guy in Texas
I'd love to make contact with the current owner

@flybd5 This is a BD-5J Microjet
-
@flybd5 there was a jet that was suppoed to be dropped by bigger version of B17 of the eigth airforce, it worked, and was much small. but do to fuel consumption, was only used 3 times in combat

I thought I recall seeing a microjet engine once, or at least a prototype: it was basically a small, square, thin, flat hollow plate with a turbine fan (essentially, just the blades and axle) inside (plus, I'm sure some intricate channels not readily visible; this was on TV some years ago), and it was handheld size.
Anyone know what I'm taking about?

@iputacapinurass A Cri Cri was built with two small turbines. It is still longer than the BD-5J
I was at the Richmond VA air show in 1979 and saw a BD-5J fly through a C5A Galaxy air craft that was on static display on the flight line. I don't think that was an approved maneuver due to the announcer being caught by surprise. Was that YOU???

@repalmore No. Probably either Corkey Fornof or Bob Bishop.

Can't find any reference to that. What was the model designation?
