I cry everytime I hear this song. I was 7 years old when I saw this at the pictures. My dad had sent me to see this film with a few friends. I remember feeling a great sadness part way through this song. When I got home from the pictures, I saw an ambulance at my house but couldn't go in the house. I couldn't even see my mam. Turned out that my dad had killed himself. I still get the same feeling to this day when I hear this song and am convinced he killed himself when I felt that sadness.

thanks th3r32a - the pain hasn't left me even after all these years and this song, which is a lovely song, is always a reminder. Sometimes I'm caught unawares with it and sometimes I just torture myself, like I'm doing now. Anyway, time for me to go, I think.

She had throat surgery in 1998 and Blake Edwards her husband said that she might not get to sing again because the surgery ruined her voice.
