This is the result of my training from a mCX to an mSR to a Simulator. After using Phoenix RC Simulator for 2 hours, I tried my Blade 400 for real! (yes its a T-rex canopy) This is the second battery....took off needing 2 clicks of right rudder trim after that I moved around to show off the heli, then moved back and started playing with the collective and moving around "the box". I never got as close to the truck as it looks...cough, cough. The real heli is more stable than the one I'm flying in the sim. It is a Blade 400 I got used with 65mgs, a 9750 and metal head and tail. I have a 401 to put in it when I get better....Here's the RC Groups topic: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1128385

  • Nice. How long you been flying?

  • @CrazyHeliDude

At that time I think a month or two on the mCX and mSR. I flew until November and then I haven't flown helis since (now May), mostly because of weather. Well, plus I was playing with FPV fixed wing when I could fly. I'm going to get the Blade out soon though...summer is here!

  • @trexinvert part 2 of 2 the first is how to set up a 400 size heli and the second is how to adjust a 120 eccpm swashplate. As far as the blade msr, it is a perfect heli to learn orientation and nose in hovering (this is what I do during the long winter here in Canada and lack of space. BUT you have to buy a BNF and bind it to a radio like the DX6i. The radio can program the MSR to act like a collective pitch heli, and this I also found on a e-book MSR-120 guide found on rchelicopterfun

  • @trexinvert part 1 of 2. My first one is a blade 400 (still stock) with a DX6i and using a 5.5 Real Flight simulator and I would never trade it for a trex450. First very inexpensive to fix, second I had a few persons at the flying club who fly trex450 and tried my blade 400 and cannot beleive how well it flies. Why you would ask? If you set it up properly it is a very good heli, and with no experience I set it up using 2 e books I found on rchelicopterfun

  • is it me or ar those blades out of track and his head speed could be faster, then it would be more stable?

  • Dude, you are progressing well, but if you have the funds should jump right into a trex450. Why? Trex450's can crash and fly like brand new. You'll also learn about proper mechanical setups. You already mentioned that four letter word TRIM. You might be a planker(too accustomed to trim) or not, but with proper setup/balance you will need zero trim. MCR? MSR? Waste of time. I have yet to meet a newbie who can apply the "MSR/MCR head in hovering" with a real CP heli? Stay safe keep simmin.

  • nice i start with my mcx then i got a msr now i ordered a blade 400 and the phoenix simulator...:) i get it in a few days ...i wanna fly with the sim for a few hours and then ry the real blade 400 i am so ecited....grettings from germany..;) we do it the same way....funny....

  • try and keep the heli about about 3 foot high, this will make it more stable from fround effect, keep it up mate nice bit of hovering!!
