@admagma ALso if you cant do that, and the display works but is jacked up or locks up, uninstall the NIVIDA card driver, windows will install a Standard VGA adapter which will let you use the computer. You might have to boot into safe mode to remove the driver (safe mode uses the standard vga adapter).

@admagma Go to sonys support site, I am sending my cpu in to replace the video card for free. This is a known defect. You can not replace the video card, I tore mine down trying to find it. Its part of the mother board!

thanks man. A friend brought it over and I saw the "hard drive access" panel and stupidly told him, "no problem"....

Glad I could help, remember it needs a slot load slim blu-ray drive if you want to replace the stock DVD like the Sony BC-5640H-01 about 130$ Its still easy to get in there to replace it.

You just need a small philips screwdriver, Remove the little screws from the back... also you have to remove the stand to access some small screws behind there too. Good luck!
